The Escape was released last year, and it’s yet another example of what I want our auto industry to be about. The Escape was an attempt to make a car that can hit speeds of 250 miles per hour, but it was ultimately only feasible with the help of Toyota, and the combination of Honda’s FCE and Honda’s GM drivetrain made it quite competitive in price and appearance. Honda would give the GM the same car, but with a much lower price tag. The Ford Escape made more sense for carmakers because they gave up on a lot of the ‘realistic’ Ford GT to simply offer a car that’s more fun, powerful, sporty, and fun to drive. All of that changed the whole way things are done in the automotive world for a much simpler time. Honda changed the whole way that cars were done, in car production, sales, and, of course, the new car industry – the GT – that has existed in the last year or so.

But, there are some things which I find much more interesting than this new car and the car that has inspired it to be such a big part of our culture right now. For one, in the car market there was really a strong attraction for the ‘realistic’ Nissan GT-R in their first generation. Nissan did quite a bit of things for the industry with their cars, but they still do things very seriously, at least to the point where they can make meaningful
